When you hear the management speak about their "vision" of the cheese factory, they never set aside the matter of the quality of their products, and this since the beginning of their operations. Impeccable quality is always a high priority.
Proud to have always maintained our federal accreditation from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). To ensure and maintain quality and to be proactive in its efforts, La Fromagerie Polyethnique engaged in a major quality project in 2010, to obtain the standard FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification) recognized by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative). This quality standard is one of the highest in the food industry. To implement this new standard, La Fromagerie Polyethnique has expanded its team by hiring a full-time professional in charge of Quality Assurance.
After several months of work and collaboration with the employees, La Fromagerie Polyethnique is finally proud to say that it reached this standard at the end of 2011. To summarize, this accreditation incorporates ISO 22000:2018 for the food safety management system as well as hazard analysis and critical control points, ISO/TS 22002-1:2009 for food safety prerequisite programs and additional requirements for FSSC 22000 V6.
Many customers are asking that their suppliers be accredited, and La Fromagerie Polyethnique has adapted quickly to answer the costumers demands. This standard is also an advantage for the cheese factory in terms of global exports.
